Tentative reservation is a method of reserving a Reach & Frequency or Pulse campaign within TikTok Ads Manager during a campaign's planning phase. In contrast to fully reserving a finalized campaign, tentative reservation allows you to initially secure a CPM price and inventory and then eventually finalizing your campaign details and payment with one click.
Note: If Reach & Frequency or Pulse is not currently available to you, please contact your sales representative for more information. Learn more about Reach & Frequency and about TikTok Pulse suite.
To tentatively reserve a Reach & Frequency or Pulse campaign:
Log into TikTok Ads Manager and start creating a campaign.
Select Reach for your advertising objective and either Reach & Frequency or Pulse for your campaign type.
Build your preliminary campaign settings when creating an ad group. You may also create ads at this stage, including submitting creative assets.
Click Reserve inventory.
Choose if you want the tentative reservation to be auto-purchased by the expiration date and if you want to receive an email reminder of expiration. Click Confirm.
At this point, your tentative reservation has been confirmed, temporarily securing a CPM price and inventory. You can edit the tentative reservation any time before expiration and click Save. Changes to an active tentative reservation may influence the inventory available and CPM of the reservation.
You may also cancel a tentative reservation for an ad group.
Note: You may save a maximum of 10 active tentative reservations under the same account.
After saving your tentative reservation, it will be secured until it expires or until you purchase and submit it. If you had selected the auto-purchase checkbox, the tentative reservation will be automatically purchased by the expiration date.
If the scheduled start date of the campaign is 30 days or more from the current date, we will keep the inventory for 14 days.
If the scheduled start date of the campaign is within 7 and 30 days from the current date, we will keep the inventory for 3 days.
If the scheduled start date of the campaign is within 3 and 7 days from the current date, we will keep the inventory for 1 day.
If the scheduled start date of the campaign is within 3 days, you can't create a tentative reservation.
We will send email reminders to you 1 day before and 6 hours before your tentative reservation expires.
Note: Scheduled start date of the campaign is based on the region of ad delivery.
You must purchase and submit your tentative reservation in order to fully secure it.
In the campaign list, choose your tentative reservation and click Purchase.
To submit the ad group and reserve inventory, click Submit.
